About

The Person Behind the Commits.

Miracle Kalu at work

I am a Senior Engineer at Wazobia Technologies, a remote software agency, where I focus on software architecture, scalability, and performance optimization for high-traffic client platforms. Alongside technical delivery, I mentor engineers and contribute to building high-performing development teams.

Previously, I served as Development Lead at Marklite Software, Melbourne, where I led the development of RouteCTRL, an enterprise logistics platform integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365. The platform supports critical operational workflows for enterprise clients, helping streamline logistics management and business processes at scale.

My edge is that I don't just do frontend or backend, I operate across the entire stack. From Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Core Web Vitals to FastAPI, NestJS, Laravel microservices, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, GCP, and Cloudflare. I don't list these skills to impress; I list them because I've built, scaled, and debugged them in production, even at 2 a.m.

I care about outcomes, not output. Fast code that doesn't solve a business problem is just fast code without impact.

Now

Senior Engineer at Wazobia Technologies. A remote software agency. I work on architecture and performance, help the team level up, and probably check LCP dashboards more than I should.

Obsession

Went from 5s to 0.9s LCP on a live platform with 10M users. Still think about what 0.7s looks like.

Background

CS degree from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Lagos-based, remote-first. Built my first production web app before I finished my second year.

Real products in production. Not prototypes. Not demo apps. Stuff people actually use.

Team LeadSenior Engineer

A global media platform reaching millions with news, entertainment, and culture. Engineered for speed and scale.

  • Rebuilt the frontend for a high-traffic media publisher reaching tens of millions of readers and viewers monthly
  • Cut LCP from 5 seconds to under 1. That's not a benchmark win; it's a revenue win. Engagement and ad revenue both tripled
  • Lighthouse score went from 40 to 85+ by systematically fixing the real problems, not just the easy ones
  • Led a team across frontend (Next.js/React), backend (NestJS/Flask), and infrastructure (Docker/Kubernetes). Everyone shipped

Development LeadFull Stack Engineer

A logistics platform that talks to Microsoft Dynamics 365 and actually works. Fleet operators use it daily.

  • Built a TMS from zero to production. Route planning, real-time tracking, proof-of-delivery. The whole stack
  • Wrote the Dynamics 365 ERP integration myself. Enterprise billing and route management that doesn't fall over at scale
  • Built the operator dashboard in React/TypeScript with custom Dynamics controls. Logistics UX is weird; I figured it out
  • Shipped a React Native driver app for iOS and Android. Offline-first, real-time GPS, background sync. Because drivers don't always have signal
  • Ran the Azure infrastructure: deployment, security, autoscaling, monitoring. If it broke at 3am, I was the one fixing it

Career

Where I've Left a Mark

Wazobia Technologies

Senior Software Engineer

April 2025 – Present

Remote (company HQ: London)

“I work on architecture and technical strategy for client products at a remote software agency. The platforms I touch happen to reach a lot of people, which mostly means I'm the one losing sleep over whether they'll stay up.”

  • Scaled a Next.js digital media platform to 10M+ monthly active users. The fun part was doing it without a complete rewrite
  • Took LCP from 5s to under 1s. Core Web Vitals stopped being a problem and started being a competitive advantage
  • Lighthouse 40 → 85+. Not by chasing the score. By fixing CLS, LCP, and FID at the root
  • Tripled monthly active users and ad revenue. Performance work pays for itself if you do it right
  • Built containerized deployment pipelines with Docker and Kubernetes. Releases got faster. Failures got rarer
  • The platform isn't just a Next.js frontend. I worked across the backend too. Blog publishing, image transformations, vector embeddings, and a similarity search service

Full Stack Developer & Development Lead

August 2022 – March 2025

“I led development on RouteCTRL from nothing to a production-grade TMS that enterprise logistics clients trust. Greenfield architecture, full-stack delivery, real customers.”

  • Delivered RouteCTRL end-to-end with the team: route planning, real-time tracking, proof-of-delivery. It works because we tested it in the real world
  • Built the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP integration. Enterprise billing and logistics workflows that had to be reliable. And are
  • Built the operator dashboard in TypeScript/React with custom Dynamics controls. Logistics UX is its own beast; I learned it by shipping
  • Shipped the React Native driver app for iOS and Android. Offline-first, GPS tracking, background sync. Drivers need it to work in dead zones. It does
  • Owned the Azure cloud infrastructure. Provisioning, pipelines, autoscaling, security hardening. I was the on-call, so I built it to not need me

Commerce Engineering

Engineering for High-Volume Stores.

Shopify is often treated like a no-code tool. I treat it like a production platform: custom Liquid/JavaScript themes, performance budgets, and checkout flows that scale.

Need a Store Built Like a Product?

Whether it's a custom theme, a store migration, or Core Web Vitals tuning. Let's talk engineering.

Writing

Thinking Out Loud.

I write about the engineering problems I actually solve. Performance, architecture, Shopify, and why things break.
